You Have the Right to Be Angry


During May, Sexual Violence Prevention Month (#SVPM), we’re posting once a day about common survivor coping strategies and healing from violence.


Most survivors have experienced someone invalidating their anger. Survivors are often told to ‘calm down’, that you won’t heal if you are angry, or have someone trying to minimize your experience.

It’s OK to be angry about being sexually assaulted. You have the right to be angry.
