No One Asks For It is on the first Friday of each May.
In its fifth year, the campaign invites Canadians to wear purple in support of survivors, and in recognition of Sexual Assault Awareness Month.
One of the biggest hurdles people face after a sexual assault is the notion that somehow they “asked for it” by what they were wearing, where they were, what they were doing or drinking. This is victim-blaming.
On May 1st, we want to make a collective impact across Canada using social media. Wear purple and show your support of survivors.
People can RSVP to wear purple on facebook here: http://on.fb.me/1HrMOfz
Be a part of the conversation using the hashtag #NoOneAsksForIt!
