SACHA had a very busy weekend!
On Saturday we excited to be at Hammer City Roller Girls’ final home game of the season. SACHA volunteers chatted with fans about the work that we do and invited folks to Take Back the Night and the male ally solidarity event.
Folks at the SACHA table shared how they are going to demand a world without violence:
By Rallying @ TBTN!
By believing survivors of sexual assault
By speaking up and not being a by-stander!!
SACHA truly appreciates the support of Hammer City Roller Girls and can’t wait for them to bring the awesome as they volunteer as marshals at TBTN!
Check out the amazing words of support that HCRG shared during the launch of the It’s Time…
On Sunday we facilitated a workshop for CYO Camp Brebeuf staff who shared how they will demand a world without violence:
Speak out in conversations with friends. Don’t shy away from uncomfortable topics.
Not ignoring or dismissing violence when I see it!
Asking someone if something is wrong will be a safe and happier world!
Fight for gender EQUALITY! Women should feel better about sticking up for themselves.
Refuse to gossip.
Help people discover their self-worth.
Hugs and cuddles
Don’t gossip/spread rumours about other people.
Remind people they are LOVED
Women should get equal treatment!
Open your eyes, mind and heart!
Treat everyone equally!
Help not hurt
Don’t judge without knowledge!
By understanding that we all have baggage and learn to except each other for it!
Be attentive – keep an eye out for the signs.
Make sure everyone feels loved, respected, important and listened to!
No means no!
Thanks to everyone who made this weekend so amazing!
